The Fox procedural series Alert: Missing Persons Unitwas quickly renewed for a second season, and now the Scott Caan-led drama is returning for season 3. Premiering in 2023, Alert: Missing Persons Unit is set within the Philadelphia Police Department's MPU which is tasked with investigating missing persons cases and kidnappings. Besides the case-per-week format found in most procedurals, Alert also plays on the drama between its lead characters, a former married couple who both work for the MPU and are still investigating the disappearance of their son.
