Ian McKellen has been hospitalized after a fall during a performance. The multi-talented star of stage and screen is likely most widely known for his performances as Magneto in the X-Men franchise and as the iconic J.R.R. Tolkien character Gandalf in the Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit trilogies. The star has been nominated for two Oscars over the course of his career, for The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King and for 1999's Gods and Monsters, in which he played Frankenstein director James Whale.
