Avatar 3 gets a new production update from star Sam Worthington. After the mega success of his original movie in 2009, filmmaker James Cameron returned to the world of Pandora with his hit sequel, Avatar: The Way of Water, in 2022. The follow-up was a major success, solidifying plans for a trio of new entries in the franchise. Avatar 3's release date was originally set for December 2024, but the film is now expected to bow in theaters in December 2025, continuing the story of the Sully family.
