Monkey D. Luffys powers worked surprisingly well in live-action, but One Piece season 2 will have to deal with two characters whose abilities will be even more difficult to portray. One of the biggest challenges Netflixs live-action version of One Piece had to face in the first season was how to portray Luffys Devil Fruit abilities. Hollywood never had an easy time with stretchy characters, yet Luffys Gum-Gum techniques are an essential part of the story. Fortunately, Luffys powers looked great in live-action and never had an uncanny valley feel to them.
