It's unclear what the future holds for Sony's Spider-Man Universe after the upcoming December 2024 release of Kraven the Hunter. Originally planned as a series of spinoff movies from Marc Webb's The Amazing Spider-Man 2 in 2014, Sony's Spider-Man Universe was born following the sequel's disappointing performance, the establishment of a deal with Marvel Studios to bring Spider-Man into the MCU, and the redevelopment of a stand-alone Venom project. Sony's Marvel franchise hasn't managed to match the success of its behemoth cousins, however, throwing its future into jeopardy.
