Though no definite answers were given, DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn addressed the potential of a Watchmen adaptation as part of the broader DC Universe. In an episode of Josh Horowitz's Happy Sad Confused, the filmmaker seemingly affirmed that there are no current plans to bring that property into his film and television franchise. After Horowitz asked whether he wanted to do more with Watchmen, Gunn explained: "I don't know, you know. I really like... You know what? I really respect Alan Moore. I will say, you know, I really respect him [...] but that's said I did love the TV show."
