Two survival movies starring Idris Elba have ascended Netflix's Global Top 10 chart. The English actor began his career in television, rising to prominence for his compelling performances as the ambitious drug kingpin Stringer Bell in the HBO series The Wire and as the titular brooding detective in the BBC series Luther, the latter earning him four Emmy nominations. Elba has also made notable appearances in other TV shows, including a recurring role as Charles Miner on the NBC sitcom The Office.
