Game of Throneswrongs House Martell, one of the Great Houses of Westeros, but the Song of Ice & Fire books can still make up for the show's mistakes. House Martell is occasionally mentioned in the show before Oberyn Martell, the younger brother of Dorne's ruling prince, Doran Martell, makes his grand entrance in Game of Thrones season 4, episode 1. However, House Martell does not have the same prominence in the show as it does in the books. Had the adaptation followed the Song of Ice & Fire books more closely, House Martell would have been a more critical player.
