• Prepares work to be accomplished by gathering information and materials. • Plans concept by studying information and materials. • Illustrates concept by designing rough layout of art and copy regarding arrangement, size, type size and style, and related aesthetic concepts. • Obtains approval of concept by submitting rough layout for approval. • Prepares finished copy and art by operating typesetting, printing, and similar equipment; purchasing from vendors. • Prepares final layout by marking and pasting up finished copy and art. • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. • Estimates the time required to complete a job. • Developing design briefs that suit the company's purpose • Thinking creatively to produce new ideas and concepts and developing design using innovation to redefine a design brief within time and cost constraints • Presenting finalized ideas and concepts to clients or account managers • Proofreading to produce accurate and high-quality work • Demonstrating illustrative skills with rough sketches and working on layouts ready for print • Commissioning illustrators and photographers • Working as part of a team with copywriters, photographers, videographers, illustrators, other designers, account executives, web developers and marketing specialists.
