The Last Ship, a TNT series that was adapted from a post-apocalyptic 1980s novel of the same name, saw Rhona Mitra in the role of Dr. Rachel Scott, but only for the first two seasons of the series. The series, which aired for five seasons from 2014 through 2018, follows the crew of the USS Nathan James returning home from maneuvers in the Arctic, only to learn the world has been torn apart by a virus. The ship's Commander Chandler (Eric Dane) must work with his crew and Dr. Rachel Scott (Rhona Mitra), to find a cure for the virus.
